Connection strips cannot be used to mount over-voltage protection devices and do not have the 'look both ways' testing facility. The Connection Strip 237B has the top row of IDC contacts permanently connected to the bottom row. In the Connection Stip 237C the top row of IDC contacts are not connected to the bottom row and is designed to join wires together by punching down the incoming and outgoing wires in the same IDC contact. The earthing strips have all IDC contacts commoned to an earth wire fitted with a terminal ring.
