Fibre Patch Panel Modules & Cassettes
FAQs
An MPO fibre module supports pre-terminated connectivity, enabling compatible fibre trunks to be connected without field splicing. A G2 splice cassette provides protected space for joining incoming fibre cable to pigtails and front-facing adaptors. Choose according to whether the installation uses pre-terminated trunks or fusion-spliced fibre.
Choose a cassette with pigtails when incoming fibres will be fusion spliced directly to factory-prepared tails. A cassette without pigtails offers greater flexibility when suitable pigtails are already available or the termination arrangement will be configured on site. Always match the fibre mode, connector type and required capacity.
Internal shutters help limit dust contamination by covering unused LC adaptor openings and operating automatically when connectors are inserted or removed. On compatible CommScope G2 products, the shutter can also illuminate during visual fault locator testing, making continuity checks easier without manually opening the adaptor.
CommScope G2 splice cassettes are designed for compatible AGL, G2 EPX, HD and UD fibre panels. Compatibility should still be checked against the exact panel model, available cassette slots and required fibre density before ordering. Other product families, including SYSTIMAX InstaPATCH 360 and PROPEL, may use different module formats.
