Test reference cords for use with optical test sets to ensure accurate test results. They are manufactured to much tighter tolerances than standard patch leads and should always be used when testing fibres. Encircled Flux (EF) compliant test reference cords ensure that the optimum amount of light in all of the different modes is injected in to the fibre under test thus ensuring the most accurate measurement of the performance of the fibre. These should be used when testing laser optimised fibres such as OM3 OM4 and OM5.
