The FTTH-Battery-2 is the second generation of DKT Battery Backup Units, it offers one hour of battery backup for 3 devices in any combination of 5V, 9V or 12V and is suitable for wall installation as well as for desktop operation.
During normal operation the mains adaptor will provide power for the attached devices and keep batteries at state of charge providing one hour of 30W backup. Typical application is backup for telephony service powering gateway, router and analog telephone adaptor during a mains power outage.
Future networks will be reliant on digital all-IP services as the older copper infrastructure begins to be shut down, the DKT Battery 2 units offers as single power input device that will allow the powering up of up to 3 devices such as routers, switches and replaced telephony products, with digital VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) products along with any fibre to the home products as well.
The units are also extremely useful in homes where power failure provides a risk to health.
